Deep Greens Nursery Inc. began with a dream rooted in family, hard work, and a lifelong love for plants.  

On Christmas Day of 2025, our family walked the property of Vaughn’s Nursery that would soon become the next chapter of our lives.  Standing there together surrounded by the mountains of North Carolina and generations of growing history, we knew this place was special.  What started as a simple walk through the nursery became the beginning of a new future for our family.  

For years, growing plants has been part of who we are.  Hybrid rhododendrons have always been our passion and specialty, and horticulture has been woven into our family life for generations.  Watching plants grow, learning the craft, and sharing that knowledge has always meant more to us than just business-it is something we truly love.

Our oldest daughter is currently attending NC State University, pursuing her dream of one day continuing this tradition through plant growing and hybrid rhododendron development.  Seeing her passion for horticulture helped inspire us to take this leap of faith and expand our vision for the future.  

While we have always been experienced growers, purchasing Vaughn’s Nursery introduced us to an entirely new side of the industry, retail.  Deep Greens Nursery Inc became more than just growing plants: it became about creating a place where families, gardeners, and our community could come together to find beauty, inspiration and quality plants for their homes and landscapes.  

Today, Deep Greens Nursery Inc. continues to grow as a family-owned business built on faith, hard work, and a genuine love for horticulture.  We are honored to carry on the legacy of this nursery while building something new for future generations.
